The fatal accident occurred near Haviland at the intersection of State Route 114 and County Road 87 in Blue Creek Township, Paulding County, on November 30, 2023, around 9:27 A.M. Hayden was driving south on County Road 87 in a 1991 Ford F-150. He failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of State Route 114, which led to the unfortunate incident.

What was the Cause of Hayden Smith Death?

Hayden’s vehicle entered the intersection and collided with the trailer of a 2017 Volvo semi-truck driven by 54-year-old Gary G. Ballenger from Oakwood, Ohio, who was heading westward. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to Hayden’s critical injuries.

The Allen County (Indiana) Coroner’s Office declared Hayden dead after he was rushed from the scene to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In contrast, Mr. Ballenger did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
